Not dead but rotting.

Hello everyone ,

This blog is not dead .

For the last three years I have been living in japan and due to other non warhammer related projects I haven t been able to paint much ....But I m still slowly buying vintage miniatures and really want to continue this project .

So this blog will rise from Nurgle swamps in 2017, with a lot of exclusive models .....

Thank you for the support.

Hi everyone,

Here is the last part of the tutorial, I m sorry for the quality of the pictures as I was taken with my phone .

Step 07/Metalic:

On those miniatures the process is a bit different from the previous Nurgle champion because those ones don t have as many metallic parts.

The only difference is the first coat , for the previous ones I airbrushed the alcohol Vallejo silver paint , for those ones I used the following.

Then I moved to the first layer of tarnishing, I used soil of Avagddu here again, that probably the key color for my painting style, it s very flat and I use the darker version, Dirty Leather, for lining .I always switch back and forth with those two colors to keep the global tone of the miniature uniform, and to line each separate part.

Sometime I add a little bit of black ink to the Dirty Leather, when I have to line a very dark element , but I try to never go completely black with lining.

For the chain mails I mix a dark blue and a bit of black ink as a lavish

Then come the second and third layer of tarnishing , with the following colors

Basically for the cooper part I use a first layer of chasm green . then put a bit of green patina on the very deep details and do some leaks with a very thin brush

I follow the same process for steel with the two orange colors , I really like the orange from the foundation range as it s not too saturated and very flat.

As a final touch I do some highlight with the basic metallic color and I use a lot of carbon pencil on the hard edges of the mini to get them shinny .I m currently finishing the details on the mini , I m not going to do a tutorial on that as the method is very simple , usually a base colors , a lavish , back to base colors and one or two highlight.

I paid extra attention on the details and small element as it s what is make the mini look clean ,

the robes have been painted in a more roughs way to create a lot of texture and save time , but the details have to be sharp .Hopefully everything will make more sense with better pictures of the finalized mini .

Thank you !

I'm still working on four miniatures for my adeptus mechanicus army , and once their done I will finish the 3 chaos champions and the tutorial.

Then I will start  working on the following miniatures ,
I will probably use the two cultist for a war altar ,buy the missing chaos champion with the scythe and the missing bestmen before starting them.
